Caitlin Clark Leads Rookie Salaries in WNBA Draft

Top Four Draft Picks Earn Record-Breaking Contracts

Clark Inks $338,056 Four-Year Deal with Indiana Fever

Caitlin Clark, the highly touted Iowa star, has emerged as the highest-paid rookie in the upcoming WNBA season. Clark, who was drafted No. 1 overall by the Indiana Fever, will receive a four-year contract worth a total of $338,056, according to the WNBA's Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

Clark's contract is on par with the other top rookies in the draft. Cameron Brink (No. 2 pick, Dallas Wings), Kamilla Cardoso (No. 3 pick, Seattle Storm), and Rickea Jackson (No. 4 pick, New York Liberty) will also earn $338,056 over four years. The starting salary for the top four picks in the WNBA draft is set at $76,535, with a gradual increase each year.

Clark's arrival in the WNBA is highly anticipated, and she is expected to make an immediate impact. The 6-foot-1 guard averaged 27.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 8.0 assists per game during her collegiate career at Iowa. She was named the Big Ten Player of the Year three times and led the Hawkeyes to two consecutive NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 appearances.

The Indiana Fever will benefit greatly from Clark's offensive prowess. The team struggled offensively last season, ranking near the bottom of the league in scoring. Clark's ability to score and create plays for others will be a major asset for the Fever.

With Clark leading the way, the Fever will hope to improve upon their 12-20 record from last season. The team has made several roster moves this offseason, including acquiring veteran guard Victoria Vivians and signing former All-Star center Teaira McCowan.

The WNBA regular season is scheduled to begin on May 19, with the Indiana Fever opening their season at home against the Chicago Sky. Clark's debut in the WNBA is sure to draw plenty of attention, and she will be hoping to make an immediate impact for her new team.
